Lake Powell June 2025

Our friends, the Johnsen’s, invited us on their houseboat June 20-24th. We’ve never been on a houseboat before or to Lake Powell, so it was such an incredible experience. We had a houseboat, and then they had their surfing boat next to it, along with a fun beach, kayaks, and a blowup blob. We would wake up in the morning and do whatever our heart’s desired. Brennan, me, Claire and Paisley went on kayak ride several times to find little coves around us. Claire, Paisley and Kinley spent many hours on the beach building Sandcastles playing in the water collecting seashells and trying to catch lizards. On Sunday we did a gorgeous scenic tour of some of the surrounding slot canyons we found that we were able to boat back into slowly and when it ran out of water we got out and hiked in, and there was a gorgeous little waterfall at the end. The Johnsen’s have been coming here for years and so they were also able to tell us about some of the areas they used to vote and jet ski around and camp at when the water levels were different. We enjoyed meals together. Brennan and I and the girls got to, and surf, and wakeboard together. Lots of other people also skied and slalom ski together. We played games some of the evenings and on the last night we had a glow stick dance party on top of the houseboat which the girls loved. And then driving back to dock we got to sit on top of the houseboat and enjoy the gorgeous views.
